Not that cousin Pao knows how to give any hints about painting; that in itself would be more of a drawback; but in order that, in the event of there being anything that she doesn't comprehend, or of anything perplexing her as to how best to insert it, cousin Pao may take the picture outside and make the necessary inquiries of those gentlemen, who excel in painting. Matters will thus be facilitated for her."

深夜，11点半左右，海燕坑附近的仓库院内，一台越野车停滞，余明远孤身一人走了下来，眉头紧锁地进了室内。
主房客厅中，一群工人正在更换海水打湿的衣物，而苏天御则是站在门口处，刚刚跟孔正辉通完电话。
"货没了，人也没了？"余明远进屋后，直言问道。
"嗯，对方在海上劫的货，张浩那一船的人都被带走了。"苏天御再次跟对方介绍了一下情况："对面有六艘快艇，三十多号人，手里拿着射鱼枪，长叉子，全都蒙着面。"
"白宏伯和孔正辉什么时候到？"余明远停顿一下问道。
"他们正在过来，我家里人也在往这赶。"
"行，那你跟我走吧。"余明远点头。
"好！"苏天御闻声回头吩咐道："米子，你在这照看一下，我跟余总出去一趟。"
"知道了。"
……
院内，余明远拽开车门坐上了副驾驶，而苏天御只能去开车。
二人离开平房大院，苏天御主动问了一句："去哪儿？"
"回公司。"余明远拿着电话回。
苏天御点头，开车赶往茂林大道那边。
路上，余明远连续拨打了数个电话后，坐在副驾驶上有些沉默，苏天御眉头轻皱地问道："唐柏青怎么说？"
"他在公司门口等我们呢。"余明远有些心烦地看着苏天御问："劫货就劫货，为什么连人也扣了？"
"要么是给下马威，要么就是张浩他们有人认出劫货的人了。"苏天御思考一下回道："他们是蒙面的嘛。"
余明远缓缓点头，叹息一声说道："先见了唐柏青再说吧。"
苏天御瞄了余明远一眼，非常直接地问道："远哥，他到底能不能罩得住啊？"
"你是认定了，动货的就是码帮？"余明远反问。
"很大可能是他们。"苏天御回。
余明远："看看唐柏青怎么说。"
"我家里人被扣了，如果是码帮做的，人得先回来，远哥。"苏天御与余明远交流时，完全没有试探和不好意思。
余明远扫了苏天御一眼，缓缓点头。
……
11点半左右，明远贸易公司的办公楼门前，苏天御停下了汽车，紧跟着唐柏青就独自一人拽门坐了上来。
"问了吗？"
"问了，码帮那边说，他们不知情。"唐柏青最近一段时间诸事不顺，整个人看着特别憔悴，气色很差。
"会不会是撒谎？"余明远又问。
"码帮的人，应该不会跟我撒谎。"唐柏青摆手回道："可能是路面上的人干的，也可能是码头周边有人见钱眼红了，没跟上面打招呼，就把事做了。"
"要钱，为什么会扣人呢？"余明远拧着眉毛说道："苏家，白家总共有五个人被扣了，这特么也太过线了。"
"我给码帮的坐堂魏相佐，还有帮带徐虎都打了电话，他们说在查。"唐柏青出言宽慰道："如果问题出在港口周边上，那早晚会摸到消息的。况且被扣的只是几个工人而已，对方留他们也没用啊！估计是有诉求，早晚会谈的。"
余明远沉默。
唐柏青松了松领口，掏出烟盒看了一眼正驾驶上的苏天御，随即轻声说道："小苏，你先下车，我有两句话要单独跟余总说。"
苏天御愣了一下后，也没有多说，推门就走了下去。
车内，唐柏青点燃了香烟，抬头看向余明远说道："其实……昨天码帮的人找过我。"
"找你干什么？"余明远有些意外。
"他们想谈海上走货的生意，但我最近被家里的事，搞得焦头烂额的，当时也就没深想。"唐柏青吸了口烟："码帮的意思是，刚开始以为咱们只是做短线，量也不大，所以在海上吃货也就吃了，算是卖我个面子。但最近一段时间，咱们的接货量越来越大，管理也越来越规范，完全是照着做长线的路子经营，这样搞得他们有点眼红。"
"你继续说。"
"码帮的意思是，他们想入伙，从货上抽成。"唐柏青补充了一句。
"抽多少？"余明远反问。
"至少百分之二十吧。"唐柏青回。
"扯淡呢？！"余明远挑着眉毛："现在苏白孔三家就已经拿了百分之三十了，然后你又拿百分之三十，那我要再给码帮二十，这公司还有盈利吗？我不等于做慈善呢吗？！"
唐柏青沉默半晌，压低声音回道："明远，你吃海上的饭，就不可能绕过码帮的。这一行一业都有自己的打法和规则，你手伸得太长，而且赚的利又多，那自然有人会眼红啊。码帮的情况你也知道，他们跟长清公司差不多，都是字头性组织，人家不光在地面上有话语权，而且在海警队，海关里，也有不少自己人。他们可以卖我面子，但也可以不卖，你懂我意思吗？"
余明远停顿半晌："你的意思是，这次劫货就是他们干的？"
"没，我没这个意思。"唐柏青摆手："我确实问了魏相佐和徐虎，但他们都说自己没叫人干这事。我刚才跟你说的这些，只是昨天他们找我的时候谈的。"
余明远沉默。
"脚力这活其实给谁都行，说实话，你分给苏白孔三家的利有点多。"唐柏青稍稍停顿一下说道："如果长做，你绕不开码帮，那还不如把脚力这活交给他们干呢。"
"你的意思是？"
"谁有用就用谁呗。"唐柏青回。
"踢那三家出局，是吗？"余明远非常直白地问道。
"这样干会好一点。"唐柏青点头。
余明远深深看了唐柏青一眼，思考了良久后回道："老唐，你确定码帮的人没跟你撒谎，是吗？"
"艹，我你都不信吗？"唐柏青很无语地回道："要不我现在给魏相佐，还有徐虎打个电话，你当面听着？"
"那不用。"
"这事不一定是码帮干的，有可能是谁眼红了，找人劫货想勒索点钱。"唐柏青吸着烟回道："码头乱得很，老雷子，亡命徒遍地走。"
"谁入股，谁出局，这事以后说。"余明远扭头回道："先找人和货吧。"
"行，我催一下码帮那边。"唐柏青点头回道："如果真是闸南码头周围的人干的，那肯定能查出来。"
……
闸南区某地，张浩等五人被摁在地上，满身是血。
"他妈的，还敢还手，还敢报信是吗？就你硬呗？！"一名壮汉冲着张浩的脑袋猛踩了几下后，立即摆手吩咐道："给他们关狗笼子里，下池子泡着。"
几分钟后，张浩等人被关在了空间狭窄的狗笼子里，随即被数人抬着扔进了人工海鱼池内。
张浩下半身浸泡在水里，大腿哗哗淌血，整个人的意识已经模糊了。他被另外一个工人搀扶着，轻声嘀咕道："我……我知道他们是谁……。"
